Distance Education Differential Tuition

The rate to be charged for distance education courses will range from a minimum of $40 per semester credit hour to a maximum of $440 per semester credit hour. Each academic department will have an individual rate that will be approved annually by the President of Texas A&M University.

Registering for Classes
(after acceptance)


Before registering for classes, students must update their location in the Howdy Portal under (My Record > Registration.)

Your location should reflect where you will be physically located for most of the semester. This ensures correct billing and compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Web-Based Off Campus (700-level)

For Distance Education students

  • Charged differential tuition (applies to all students enrolled in these courses)

Web-Based On Campus (590–599, 690–699, M99)

For students NOT IN Distance Education programs

  • Tuition and fees match traditional on-campus rates
  • Subject to on-campus service fees.

How to Register


Use Aggie Schedule Builder. Students can register once their assigned time is posted in Howdy. Here's how to get started:

  1. Log into Howdy
  2. Open the Registration icon
  3. Navigate to Registration and Schedule Builder
  4. Use the tool to build your class schedule
  5. Once ready, click Send to Shopping Cart
  6. To finish, click the Register button (top-right corner)

How to Register for Distance Education Courses

 

  1. Go to Courses in the Schedule Builder
  2. Select "By Section Attributes"
  3. Choose "Distance Education"
  4. The schedule will now display only Distance Education course numbers and subjects
